ABC offers a free home-based mentoring program designed to prepare children for Kindergarten. Two mentors are assigned to a child after assessed for school readiness. A nationally accredited curriculum is utilized to develop fun research-based activity kits for achieving pre-literacy skills needed before Kindergarten. Ideally a child will be enrolled in the program for one year prior to entering Kindergarten. Mentors visit the home for one hour one time per month. Additional activity kits for the child stay with the parents until the mentors return with new materials the next month.
